Default Would you own a left hand drive?

Just wondered if anyone has owned one, and found it a PITA?

I'm thinking parking tickets, drive throughs' and overtaking are the main issues

There is only one lhd car I have ever wanted (and still want) and am so pissed off that they never made a RHD...

I'd put up with it for an E30 M3.

..but it would probably end up on a trailer anyway

Only an exotic car. I realise some people would say that all lhd cars are exotic but I mean stuff like Ferrari's, Porsche's.

But it would have to be a second car.

My mate has his Shelby GT500 coming in Jan but it will a weekend play thing. And hes on about driving it down to his dads place in Portugal so LHD will be ideal!

I tend to think "you peasant" when I see a LHD Fezza which can be had in RHD

But then again, may just mean they spend most of their time aborad in some large holiday home, with live in ho's etc...

Nothing to worry about.

My first car, which I learned to drive in (along with my mum's Accord), was LHD - an ancient '72 Fiat 127 brought here by my a friend's cousin.

Lot of LHDs followed - an Ex Paris-Dakar Citroen, a '70 Mach 1, an '86 Camaro IROC, a Ford Bronco, a '71 Mustang, a Chevy G20... up to the current LHD vehicle of choice - a '72 Continental.

It's handy for getting out of the car on the kerb. And insofar as overtaking is concerned I've never had any issues.

My wife drove the Bronco (manual BTW too!), IROC and G20 on a daily basis too.

Yeah i agree about the LHD Fezza's, always they've bought one to save a few quid!

Mark, you still being thinking about a 360? Looks like my mate is going for one next year, hes after a Spider in red with cream or tan. We went looking in Exeter at the weekend, i'm going to hate him for it!

I'd love one Jim, but i've been put off a little bit after talking to my dealer man. Lots of iffy ones out there it seems

Not totally put off though, and am going to decide on what car in a few months when I see where I will be living in my time off.

Did you get a go in one?

I currently have an obsession with the Z8

Yeah, hes going to take his time, needs a garage to put it in and wants to get his Lotus back to full health as well first!

Didnt get a spin in one, think he'll wait till hes ready to buy before trying one!

Z8s are nice, I quite like the Alpina version as well but it never got a great rating.

Another mate who had an RS6 has sold it now and picks up a yellow Sagaris off PHs tomorrow. Hes got a proper deal on it!

Fletch's Vette was LHD. I think it was more the running costs that made him get rid of it, but I would imagine the parking barriers etc. were a PITA, particularly in a car that wide.
