Col,

Don't buy a used scooby from a dealer, without checking the new prices at:

WR1 is a very overpriced STi basically - and the colour isn't too nice IMO.

Ok it has a few extras over a standard STi, but you can easily get the same power from a standard UK STi and save a lot of money. All it would take is a downpipe and a remap. You can get away with keeping the warranty there too IMO.

Whats the major differ between a 111r and a 111s?

Is it purely engine?
Did they put proper brakes in the newer 111s? Until the 111R they had no servo assistance, which I found pretty terrifying on the ones I drove. Apparently you get used to it, but it's certainly a shock.

And by all accounts the best version of the crappy Rover engine (least bad perhaps that should be) was the 135bhp one. Not sure why that is.

I spent nearly a year lurking around the SELOC forum learning everything I could about Elises before deciding not to buy one.

The Elise S I believe has servo assisted brakes, Dembo, yeah. THey are still pish when you're driving in a downpour though.

*tip* - leave lots of room to the car in front unless you test your brakes every mile or so to clean the water off. That aside, the servo assisted brakes are astounding. When they bite, you can somehow feel the texture of the discs through the pedal!

Because she needs to ferry her parents about. She needs 4 seats to get the old uns in and out.

I understand her position completely. I don`t like it but I understand it

Cheers for that.

I was told the WR1 was 340 bhp, is that right?

Cheers Nick - Sage advice as always.

TBH, in this sector I am completely out of my depth.

I met a guy at Oulton today with a V6 clio. Had a good chinwag with him. He had bought the car because 'it got looks'.

The missus was HORRIFIED when she saw it and I said, thats nice.

She just kept saying it was chav.

I didn`t mention the fact it was two seats
