I think it's more scary because you can take it "too fast" and end up in trouble, whereas, if you know you can keep your foot to the floor all the way through, it gives you a bit more confidence.

I think that makes sense.

I guess so, although being flat in a 7 means you've put it at the corner right - if you get it wrong you end up in a wall.... the car can take it flat as long as you drive it correctly

I touched the inside kerb on exit while it was damp, way before I built up to taking it flat, and the car had a sideways moment - I suspect the 7 is a relatively easy car to control however, rather than me being a driving god, which is why I controlled it

Well done Jo!

There are a couple of places you really don't want to lose it - that one just before the bus stop where all the astroturf is, being one!

Look forward to the footage...

8 seconds faster than me too

Unfortunately by the time I had taken off the formation lap and the green flag lap, there was only about 6 minutes of racing on the film!

I will post qualy laps later on, but for now here you go:

My lines aren't great so don't use them for reference! I was turning in too early, not using enough exit kerb, blah blah, but hey it was enough to bring home 19th out of 64

I have some photos to come off the camera, so I'll get those up pretty soonish.

I have to say a couple of things about the 5 day excursion:

1) Jo drove in some feckin' horrible conditions in a tightly contested pack with cars that can't be seen due to a lack of lights and prevailing weather.

2) She consistently got faster lap on lap and then reached a point where she was doing laps of 2:58 without fluctuation. There is room for improvement, but that is a confidence thing that will come with more experience.

3) Xbox games rock

4) We chatted to a Belgian guy who was towing his Dino back to Europe who was very cool with an awesome tasche on the way out

5) The sewer system at Spa is horrible. Made we want to wretch a couple of times.

6) I'm bl00dy proud of her

Great end to the season Jo

64 cars on the grid is just crazy, the start must have sounded awesome.

So are you glad it's over for the season, or sad, or both?

Pity the spending doesn't stop when the racing does

Gutted! But already looking to next season

It feels a bit of an anticlimax tbh - can't quite believe it's all over! Nt sure what to do now !

The spending starts here - fix the gearbox & rebuild it, strip and respray, few bits and bobs. No commitment to the engine upgrades yet so not sure if that'll happen. However that engine issue from the beginning of the year got sorted and paid out in full

The pistons? Excellent.

Who footed the bill for that then?

Good vid - that's a fast track. Hope to do that next season with CSCC.
