Default Stopped by Plod

After an all day meeting in a meeting room with no windows I came out of the office tonight into glorious sunshine. Dropped the roof on the S and ambled down the 2 mile (warm up) lane to the dual carraigeway.

Hooned it down the DC enjoying the fresh air and the music.

After a few miles I came across the usual fools hogging the outside lane so I darted underneath a few of them. Nothing aggressive, most of the never saw me until I was gone.

I then noticed a black 3 series touring approaching me rapidly. He followed me for a few miles ( I wasn't hanging around) and when I finally pulled off the DC at my village he followed me and then gave me 2 little flashes of his blue lights hidden behind his front grill. I pulled into a layby and stepped out - expecting the 'do you know how many bodies we have to sweep up..blah blah'

He turned out to be a really nice bloke, said what a nice car I had and told me that although my driving was "rapid but safe", I would eventually come across a 'numpty' (his word not mine ) who would make the wrong move and it would all end badly. He went on to say that he has only recently been in a unmarked car and has been shocked by the poor standards of driving he's seen.

He mentioned the dreaded "diesel reps" and the "sleepers" in the fast lane and said that although I had the car get out of trouble, he'd rather I didn't get into trouble in the 1st place.

He then wished me a pleasant evening and went on his way.

Top bloke

Bloody hell - common sense.

This sort of policing IMHO is FAR more effective than the stop and points.

fair play to him for not booking you since you were driving sensibly

No point in talking to the retard, what is the point there is nothing to sink in to. Better to advise someone who will use it. Weird thing I don't understand is his shock, FFS he's got to be off duty and driving sooner or later.

I think he was bored and fancied a snifter around the S
