Well its made me realise that they have BMW 3 series tourings
They have 2 (that i've seen) 530d Tourings in Sheffield that are unmarked with very well hidden lights that you really cant see till they come on and no aerials on the roof apart from the bluetooth shark fin thingy! Fully blacked out rear windows, very very discreet...!

Whats undertaking? Carrying on in the lane your in as the traffic slows
to your right ? Do you slow to their speed?

Or as I suspect moving left increasing your speed and then back to the
right..

I only tend to undertake if the left hand lane is clear as far as the eye can see - I don't bother weaving in and out to make a point. The point is made far better if you undertake at a moderate speed and then stay in that lane.

Although TBH most of them are that blinkered that 5 miles later they are still sat in the outside lane doing 60 and they wouldn't have got the point if it had come up and slapped them round the face!

That's right. Weaving in and out is not acceptable imo - if the gap is so close that you have to immediately pu;; back into the right lane, then you need a patience lesson.

Whilst I see your point, I find that it's best to complete the move as quickly as possible - just like OVERtaking in fact.

What I mean by moderate is I don't fly past in 3rd at 90mph giving them the Nescafe wave

Although I may have done the former - I didn't do the latter and I gave them plenty of room.

I don't use hand signals any more - unless its to thank someone.

I think thats why I was 'let off'. That and the fact that he was a genuinely nice and particularly sensible bloke.
