or the training version.....

Accelerate, Back off, push into neutral,

push towards next gear rev the bollocks off the engine till the grinding noise stops and it goes in.

return to hire company with a suspect rattling noise coming from the dozens of teeth snapped of during training

I once drove from the M25 J10 to the Dartford tolls without touching the steering wheel with my hands.

I've tried a few times to drive to work (almost all NSL and usually empty) without hitting the 2nd cam profile, to see how much speed I can carry through the corners. I liken this to trying to shag some bird and not shoot your muck inside her. It's too easy not to do.

Oh, and for more fun, on a manual hire car, learn to change gear without using the clutch
I do that most days in the daily driver just because I can't be arsed using the clutch. If you rev match you seldom if ever crunch the and it slots home no problem. Moving from 2nd-3rd-4th is easy as its just timing. Pull into neutral, wait for revs to drop a little select new gear. However, when working down the box from 4th-3rd-2nd, etc you have to pull into neutral, blip the gas then select.

The X3 I had the other week had cruise control.
Set it to 85 on the 4 lane section at Peterborough then see how far North you can get before braking / turning it off.

The challenge is to do it without grinding. It can be done.
I had a summer job at Renault dealership when I was a student and once had to bring a Renault 5 with no clutch back from Dalry to Glasgow. As long as you can rev match, it's not too hard ...

Seeing how long you can go on a b-road at night with no lights on is fun. Not particularly clever, but fun.
