I like the back, but the front reminds me of that Hyundai coupe thing.

The GT300 version is tastier.

Isn't it just a rebadged GT86? Wasn't the car a joint development between Toyota and Subaru?

apparently the BRZ is even less 'exploitable' on the limit than the GT86 (according to EVO), seems they missed the point of it being a lightweight FR layout coupe that would get us all back into RWD fun cars. It got pretty slated for wearing Bridgestone economy 205 section tyres also.

A missed opportunity it seems.

£25k for a sub 200bhp hatch sized car.

At £20k it might have been interesting.

£25k should have been for the banzai turbo nutter version that is inevietable from Subaru

Don't blame Subaru, blame the weak currency - in Japan it's under £20k, convert to £££s and it's £25k

Fair point. Still too pricey to consider as a new car though, unless there are some good lease deals.

Give it 3 years though, might make a good used buy (if anyone buys one in the first place)

You can get some old saloon-based german sh it for five large more. Or a CRZzzzzzzzzzzzzz for the same dough.

Given it's virtually a bespoke plank, it's good value. An S2000 was 27 large 12 years ago.

Dab of Oppo test drove the slushbox and since it's not a German supercar, one wonders why the review was actually so contrary to those across the pond...

Sounds remarkably like the S2000 all over again: praised in the US & slated in the UK.

Having said all that, I do suspect that the solecisms may actually be valid; no VVIS not VTEC, no wonder the engine struggles mid-field.
