Mind you, I'm determined to drive an AM V8 or better in the next couple of years. Might as well start saving

Just been looking through that Edinburgh club's website - they're about to open a Glasgow branch as well - and the costs are quite interesting.

They're in the process of adopting a new costing system, but

I know Roadie hired a 360 for his 40th from a different outfit in Stirling, but they've apparently since gone bust.
Not gone bust, just couldn't justify the insurance AFAIAA.

www.rioprestige.co.uk is the only other place in Scotland that hire out supercars. Fabulous range (inc Koenigsegg and F430, Zonda, etc...) but prices are steep and for the Koenig/Zonda you need to be a "member" which entails more than just filling in a form. A Lambo will cost around

Before spending money on hiring cars have you tried your hand at extended test drives? Its amazing what you can get hold of if you have the confidence........ sad man that I am I've kept a little spreadsheet of cars I've tested over the last few years with an estimate of how much it would have cost to hire them for the periods I had them on loan........ to date I've had just over

The one big thing is to ask nicely! A few helpful comments:

"With this type of car I need more than a 30 minute drive on a traffic filled road to make my mind up"

"This car (eg. S2000) is the only car on my shortlist other than XXXX (eg. Boxster) that Porsche lent me to test last weekend"

"I'll happily wait until you can arrange a weekend loaner for me to try"
