I see that this now seems to be making headlines ..... report on Sky News
It was picked up on here and on the PH forums on the day of the budget.
Gordon Brown was asked about this on Radio 5 this morning and he gave the standard government reply ..... it is to encourage people to buy cars with lower emissions.
Which is bollocks.

With the current economic climate people are looking at tightening their belts and look at what is changing on the next 12 to 18 months, car tax will double.
