Test driven new model CRV's.
This morning i had a test drive in a top of the range diesel CRV (EX model) which had 19" blaze wheels. However, when i drove it, it pulled to left even when driving almost in the centre of the road so i don't think it was the camber which was causing it to do this. This afternoon i went to another Honda dealers and test drove the middle of the range CRV diesel (ES model) which had the standard 17" alloys and this also pulled to the left to a lesser extent. Are there any peeps on this forum who are in sales in a Honda dealership ? i would be interested to know whether they have any knowledge of this problem.

Perhaps in the S your left hand is always on the gear knob, and in the CRV you're now weighing down the steering wheel with it

I test drove about 3 different models of it.
Didn't pull at all for me in either case but then again I can't say I was overly impressed with it vs. cost. It really performs no function as a car, it's boot isn't all that big, it's not a 4wd really it doesn't have considerably more room than a saloon/hatchback and yet it costs considerably more for the money. I just can't see the value in them - each to their own though of course.
In the end we bought a skoda octavia sport for about 4 grand less (excl trade in) and we're much happier as we needed a family car that does the miles and it has everything the CRV has with the exception of the camera and heated, which is stupid and it has a really good auto box which no Honda has

hmmm, I think you may be making the wrong call. This is of course only my opinion feel free to tell me to STFU. We were a little blinded by brand loyalty as we love our little rollerskate so much!
1 diesel engine is superb, it really is - that VW 2.0l TDI 140 is very good. 50mpg and that's with me driving!
2. Handling, in comparison to the CRV that is it's good, if you get one with the 17" rims and the lowered suspension it's really very good and going from the S into this thing isn't so much like climbing into a barge as it is in the CRV. The old one is not as good as the new one btw!
3. The stupid door on the old CRV, remember not to reverse into a parking space if you need access to the boot!
4. The space is the same, if not more in the Octavia, vertical space yes but boot space in the octavia is unbeatable. Take a look at the estate (which has no more horizontal space than the hatch...)
Suggest you go and have a look at a Sport TDI before you make the decision. residuals are better on the Skoda Diesel versus the Honda CRV. I've also noticed the deals on the old CRV aren't all that great relatively speaking i.e. the equivalent Octavia is much cheaper.
At the end of the day we just couldnt see the value of the CRV over the Skoda <shrug>.

The dealer i visited yesterday morning rang me back in the afternoon saying he had been onto Honda and that they were aware of the problem. Apparently, a four wheel alignment is required to correct the fault. The dealer will now get the alignment carried out on the actual car i tested and i will then test it again at the weekend or early next week.
