I had a go in my uncles SLK 55 AMG today, and now thats a car!.

I was so blown away by the handling and performance, and the brakes are suberb. I love the way its a hardtop then a convertible too, fantastic.

Its surgical interior too, it oozes class from the minute you get in.

Saying that, hes one jammy F**ker, and i could buy about 4 S2000's!, other than that what a Superb car.

Oh and petrols its best friend too!

 

Bloke at work has an SLK 55 AMG. Haven't had a go in it, but one of the guys who has says the brakes are out of this world.

 

SL is where its at. I have never been so royally destroyed in all my life as I was by one of these, and I had 300bhp under my foot!

It redefined "fast" for me.

I'd love any of the '55 AMG's, but they're all still hideously expensive.

 

What brakes do they have on them, are they ceramic?

 

Not on the standard cars, I thought it was only the SLR that had them - and they like to go on fire.

Just checked my usual stats site and it looks like plain old steel if I'm reading the abbreviations right.
