Sensible post for a change:

I thought of you today Dave as I took an unplanned Fenland Triangle trip in the M3.

Basically, home to Cambridge on A11/A14 - cruise control finally came into play! - (though yours won't have in Wales) then after settling my S Korean gal into school, with her father over here, thence via the awful A10 to Ely to doorstep my builder's plumber (the buider just quit, bigger fish to fry) and then home past Marham which is a fabulous road to the A47 dual carriageway and home. I feel as fresh as a daisy and simply *ATE* anything on the road with the paddles. Hope you had a good time with your's today as well My mpg dropped from 23.1 to 22.9 when I roasted an A8 in a pure drag contest. Thinks: must remember to grow up before I forget

I prefer the saloon. But I suspect they'll have worse depreciation and be much harder to sell on.

Black with red leather would be my preference.

I've got paddles on my CVT Jazz - it's perfect for getting through bends in the right gear with instant, smooth & uninterrupted shifts, which one needs in a small car.

Mind you, I couldn't overtake shit on the A10 or any other road...

We're on holiday in Cornwall for a change this week. I've left the Beemer at home as the roads down here are just not worthy. Titty is doing a great job and getting 38mpg. Looking forward to getting back to the M though; lots to learn

Dave,

Great choice! You will love it! You need to change the exhaust pronto, akropovich or eisenmann are the ones to go for! Shame I ve sold mine otherwise we could have had a nw run!

Which dealer did you get it from incidentally?

Enjoy!

I did this today at Brands

I was also disappointed, being an SMG fan, I was quite happy with the DCT but it did feel very heavy and not as quick as I expected and perhaps a little too refined compared to mine. The engine makes a lovely noise at high revs but it doesn't bellow at you like the 6 does.

But that's what happens when you put a car like that on a track. It feels heavy because you don't realise how fast you're cornering on a big wide, empty track and doesn't feel as quick as it should because it's a big wide, empty track.

It's clearly a big improvement on the E46, if was to have an extended test drive on the road, I'd probably end up back in the dealers doing something silly.

I still want one.
