Tip needed for removing seized screws
well that went well.....
- managed to remove 2 bolts on RHS. Replaced with new shiney bolts with rasied washers. All good so far.
- broke the top off the two left hand bolts
- used a bolt extraction tool on the centre one but broke the end of the extraction tool off
- drilled out the centre bolt but threads still not shifting
- ripped open one my knuckles on the burred edges
- threw various tools down the driveway
- shouted obscenities.
- went down the pub...
have decided to leave the 2 broken bolts in place as at least they're still holding the top of the bumper on. might go back to them with a drill at some point.
is it time to take it to someone who knows what they are doing do you think ?

Oh god, no wonder the country is going down the drain , don't be defeated , try try again , man up boys !
Drill out the bolts and stuff a No 2 tap through the holes to clean the threads out , if thier M6 use a 4.8 diameter drill or 5 , the funnel nuts holding the lower bumper on will be tricky to drill out though.
Bad aids for the knuckle,s or just suck the blood off , bite the hanging bits of flesh off and carry on , insulating tape is better than a bandaid !

I'm with you Greenman...some things are best left to the Chippo's of this world.
I've sheared off bolt extractors before now.
The trick is to drill the pilot hole centrally down the sheared stud and work your way upwards until you get to the threads.
Of course, that is usually very difficult, if you cannot get the component off and use a drill press on it...
Or on exhausts/manifolds, where none of it is bloody flat/true.
I think it's one of those things like spray painting; if you do it all the time you develop a feel for it. Do it once in a blue moon and you'll be a proper spacktard.
