They definitely feel like they have more power than they have. And you can use all the power you do have. It's a well balanced package. Even if it isn't a particularly well made package ;-)

Thanks chaps

Chilled, depreciation has been very good on these cars. If I look back 2-3 years, I sold my grey 06 one for mid 20s.

Ron, these things are fooking rapid. With another 25bhp it will have 245bhp, although on track the interwarmer does start to lose a chunk of power (chargecoolers are popular) Much over 300 bhp the drivetrain starts to suffer. Standard injectors are good for 245 but not much more. You don't need big bhp in these cars though.

I see what you are saying, but they do weigh 920kg. I have 240bhp with 550kg. I have been looking at Series 1 Elises so I can stick a K20 in them. Realistically, even if I do it myself, that'll be £20k which is certainly ballpark for one of these.

The Mrs is desperate for me to get one because of how practical they are!

How about lightening them then? I don't see why they would need 17" wheels for a kick off. I really like the idea, but I don't want to miss out on the hardcoreness that I have.

Something like this:

Certainly get a couple off it too

It's probably not the car for you then. You can't comapre it to a big bhp Caterfield really!

You can get weight out but generally involves buying lighter parts. It's best not to mess with the way Lotus (they are good at these things) designed the wheel sizes.

But try one first, you would like it.

You won't get an S for £20k though, at least not a good one without space rocket miles.

Looks awesome, can see why you changed from the M3 to it, especially for weekend rags.

Plus the driveshafts wont keep imploding.

About effing time too, fannying around with all that german nonsense when you knew what you wanted all along.

I half expected to see you in an Evora, but this doesn't surprise me at all.

Nice one !

Nice one. Totally different use pattern from the M machine - which must be one of your shorter 'automotive love affairs'
