Truck Lights
Anyone old enough to remember the Michael Douglas film 'Black Rain' may recall the trucks in some of the Japanese scenes sporting Las Vega style light shows on the front/sides/rear.
It seems this is a growing trend here now - albeit with fairy lights accompanied with what appears to be the entire Cibié accessory light catalogue fitted to some trucks.
The Volvo truck I met on the road last night really took this to a new level - it had six -possibly eight - spots on the roof, as well as several others on the bumpers and innumerable multi-coloured LED's. Bleedin' distracting when approaching it as before he dipped the lights, it was very difficult to ascertain if it was single vehicle or line of closely packed cars coming towards me - and bloody dangerous too as one's eyes take time to recover from the experience...

Unnecessary, off putting and downright dangerous. I don't know much about lorry driving, but most of these fancy lights should be banned IMO.
I can see that lorry drivers should be able to see further because they take longer to stop, but alot of them out there are taking the pi$$.
I've often thought that major A roads and motorways should have tall barriers in the central reservation so the lights of the oncoming traffic don't affect your vision, it's amazing just how much further you can see when the oncoming traffic isn't there.
