Default TVR Cerbera....

Hey guys, I haven't been in your forum for awhile

I was watching an old fifth gear episode last night and they mentioned you can pick up Cerbera's for 20 grand? Is this true?

Damn... my dream car

Lovely motor but usual TVR story - Not the most reliable car in the world especially as it has the TVR engine in it as opposed to the Rover V8.

Service wise is a bit steep as well. Service intervals are 6 months or 6000 miles.

6000 mile service is approx

I need to move to the cool cars.... of course then I won't be able to afford them hahaha.

I guess I'd have to wait, when the car is 15 years old we can import them to Canada.

Speaking as a former TVR owner, whose Chimaera only leaked "a bit", I can tell you that I don't recall meeting a single Cerbera owner whose car didn't resemble a kids paddling pool after heavy rain. Tragic as the 4.5 Cerby was/is one of the fastest things on the road. I remember trying to compete with them on a track day and being made to look a complete arse ...

The inevitable question when considering TVR ownership is, "will the problems with build quality and reliability outweigh the undeniable pleasure of owning a stunningly quick and striking looking sports car?"

Makes you wonder - they can make 1 tonne lump of metal and plastic go, in control, around a corner at 80-100 mph, yet they can't stop a bit of rain getting in

Engineering priorities I guess.

Do the Cerberas suffer the same gripes with engine rebuilds as the Tuscans have had?

Do the batteries go flat over a weekend like on the Griffiths?

Don't they make a Cerbera coupe or are they all with removable lids?
