I think it is 230 bhp.

Zero, you want the 5 litre for the full effect. 0 - 60 in 4.5 and 0 - 100 in 10.2

You already have one money pit ........ why would you want another?

Mate of mine had to pay > 2k to have the gearbox replaced on a < 2 year old car.

The pre-cat's sound better. Performance wise they're about S2000 territory, though they have a lot more torque and it shows on the road (just press the right pedal and hold on) - handling is typical TVR - demanding of a big dose of respect 9and restraint) but challenging and fun - typical 'more grunt than grip' cars really.

Older TVRs are only really as good as the owners (in fact, this goes for all second hand TVRs I suppose) - it's easy to buy a Griff with problems from someone offloading a problematic car. Best to go through somewhere like Pistonheads where owners generally upgrade to another TVR, or get hold of a copy of Sprint (the TVR owners club magazine) and look in the classifieds.

Been in one on the 1st Lotus Academy day - build quality was terrible. The dash shook uncontrollably when accelrating, the bonnet heat shield line dropped onto the engine when the bonnet was opened, everything just felt shoddy. Put me off TVRs in a big way!

the 4 litre is 240 bhp, the 4 litre hc is 280 bhp , the 4.5 litre is 285 bhp and the 5 litre is 340 bhp . I dont believe they ever did and hc or a 4.5 litre in the griff although they did a 4 and 5 litre and a pre cat 4.3 litre .
and yes they are fast
