Tyres - MOT failure?
Hello all
Your help massively appreciated, although I feel a bit cheeky as this question relates to my Volvo
Basically, got the old girl booked in for her MOT tommorrow, and have noticed some tyre damage:

I presume this may have occurred when the dealer had the wheels refurbed before I bought the car.
[Subjective] question is - do people think these will result in a failed MOT?
If so, I guess the best thing would be to replace the tyres before the MOT
Annoying thing is the tread is fine and these 18"ers aren't going to be cheap!
Apols again for the non-S query, but at least I got it in the correct thread!
Ta in advance
Brad

Also examined:
general condition of tyre
condition of valve.
Tyres fail if they have serious cuts, bulges or other damage.

I would make sure I do the MOT at a non ripoff place, ideally one I already know.
If the tyres pass then no problem
Else, you replace the tyres at cost - an MOT retest is free.
Ok you might lose the use of the car for a day or two; unlikely though.
(I had a '79 Volvo 245 as my second car for years. Won me a Yamaha 12-string as a delayed swap with a fellow contractor (American) to use here in the UK. Gave me back the car as well as his guitar when he finally left in 2001 - disposal was too much hassle!)

Thumbs up for Longshot Lane MOT centre in Bracknell
Very efficient and polite
And just next door to Bracknell Tyres (where I used to get the best deal on tyres for the S, and where I will go for new fronts for the Volvo
)
