And Singapore now - seems street circuits are becoming very popular

The Valencia street race is not done and dusted.
It all depends on the Spanish bloke getting re-elected.
Knowing Bernie he will make sure the guy gets in.

Doesn't Valencia have its own rather accomplished race track already? I find a street circuit bizarre if it already has a proper race track. Monaco should be the only street circuit in Europe, but I'm open to a US one like Vegas or NY.

Indeed it does, but Bernie seems very keen on street races for reasons I can't fathom.

And the Singapore race is not only a street circuit, but will also be run at night.

This is far easier to rationalise - it means the race will run 'peak time' in Europe.

Doesn't the A1-GP feature a number of street circuits ?

I agree with the night race philosophy for Eastern races, but European street races to me seem to be treading on Monaco's toes IMO.

No, it was just Macau last year IIRC.

As much as Monaco doesn't produce lots of overtaking, I do think the cars look a lot more spectacular going round the tight twisty streets than the typical 2 miles of run off modern circuits. So I think a few more street races is all good.

The night race is a bit of a gimmick, but why not?
