Default VW Eos CC 2.0 TFSi Sport. Thoughts?

My daughter would dearly like an S but has two young children and has conceded that it would not be practical.

Her father-in-law, who is a VW salesman, can get her a good deal on the Eos and a good price for her Golf convertible.

Anyone got any experience of the Eos? JC didn't like the handling and scuttle shake on the V6 and said he preferred the Ford Focus convertible. Sadly that doesn't come in the ST variant.

Mini Q's husband, who like my husband has no interest in driving, favours the Volvo C70.

AE suggests an M3 convertible but they've only got about

MQ - just put the diesel EOS on the company car list - popular with the wives but the blokes aren't going for it. Test drives always give positive results and I enjoyed driving it and would consider having one if I was to opt back into the company car scheme.

In my view, no no no no.

Its complete all gear no idea.

FWD, heavy roof, 'normal car', all attempt at pose and a sodding weak one at that. It sits in that shitty coupe conv bracket which screams desperation to be looked at and in return will offer zero driving fun.

Piss bored in 2 months I would expect.

But saying that, if she's come from a Golf conv, then no more need be said. Another truly horrid aberration of an idea.

The M3 conv at least has power and interesting drive. I would def go for a used one of them first.

TBH, a hardtop version would be far better.

The idea of poncing around in a fwd car with the roof sliced off would not be my idea of fun. Nasty nasty nasty.

I don't know anything about the cars, but I can't imagine that an enthusiast would find them anything less than awful to drive - especially bearing in mind other cars that the budget could deliver

However, that's down to personal taste and I would certainly discount Clarkson's comments when buying my car

If she likes her old VW, then she will probably like this one, since there is a certain manufacturer 'feel' that you can recognise with your eyes shut

I can't help thinking that

Tell Minimus to sod practicality and get an S

She could get a second hand one and a runaround with 4 seats for 24k!

I have heard some interesting reviews from VW service managers.

The main issue/problem seems to be leaking roofs, the seal between the two pieces of roof, doesn't seal probably. I have been informed on some customers cars they have had to replace it more than twice within a year, and their is no real fix for this issue

Thanks for the input.

When she drove in I immediately thought it's fat and not phat. All dubious style and no substance.

The roof is very ingenious but there's so much to go wrong. It breaks into five sections and stows neatly without taking up all the boot space. There's an option to just slide the sunroof back without having the roof right down. The rear seats have plenty of legroom unlike most other CCs.

It is an ex-demonstrator with 4750 miles on the clock. Extras include full deep red nappa leather, air con, rear parking aid and 17" alloys. It's up for

You know it makes sense. Guess she'll be joining this here forum before long then?

Oh, and full marks to B B for the most sarcastic post ever. Think you might have beaten Kelk with that one.

When she drives an S at full tilt, the seat will need wiping down.
