There's something Fiat-ish about this concept...

Exactly, why would you buy a presumably more expensive TT when you could have something with the engine in the middle and that looks so much better? Same engines too, what is the point for VAG?
The two cars are not that similar.

This is a lightweight roadster, the TT isn't.

The TT will have far more space and will continue to sell well.

I think that VW may limit the engines in a bid not to take TT sales, but it's just the same comparison that you can make across the VAG range e.g.

Golf GTi or A3 2.0T or Leon Cupra or Skoda Octavia RS

They are all different in their own way.

I like it!

I have heard of short shifters but that's plain stupid!

Not sure I like the front end. Personally prefer the 'old' golf over the new and not the greatest fan of the scirocco.. maybe a grower

Looks like 3 cars cobbled together. Front to back - Golf, MR2 Roadster, 350Z

Looks good to me

What's with the fuel cap in the bonnet though!?!

And the LCD screen is far too low down on the dash.....

Fuel cap is a Porsche-a-like feature, and announces to the world that you have a mid-engined car I guess.

A "surprise and delight" feature perhaps...

Why the stupid square steering wheel?

I do like it overall though.

I think women of a certain age will buy it

I can't imagine a straight man buying one with his own money at that price

Well, all the best-driving cars get that stigma!
