Default " WARNING " New speed camera's

Just thought i'd let any users of the M60/M62 know that they have just put those spec cameras up from junction 18(M60) to junction 20(M62) these cameras don't flash unlike normal Gatso's, they time your distance between points and if you pass the set points faster than the set time they issue you a ticket automaticaly from your reg number,
"THE B4STARD5" I hope no-one gets caught out, maybe we should start a camera awareness thread C.A.T.
Andy

Be carefull out there

Thx for the warning - do they emit, or are they not detectable?

I can see me switching back to the transit number plates!

Specs cameras usually emit normal radar. Any radar detector should warn you for the whole of the time you're driving through the measured zone.

Thx for that, Tonky.

I get very confused with the technology the Onroad Revenue use these days.

You sure Tonky?

I was under the impression these were video enabled number plate recognition systems working over distance - time inorder to calculate speed.

Far as i am aware the only thing they emit is Infra red to read your plates in the dark.

Undetectable, I think. That's why I bought my Geodessy.

Ooops! Rudester, I've just checked with Stuart from Radar Detectors UK. I'm sorry guys, I had the wrong end of the stick here.

Apparently SPECS systems aren't normally detectable, and systems like Geodessy and RA need them to be programmed in. The only saving grace is that they emit infra red, and depending on wthat frequency they operate on, you MAY get a warning on a laser detector if the frequecy used is close to 'normal' laser frequencies used by the police, as lasers work on infra red frequencies. It's by no means certain you'd get a warning though. Assume you won't! Bad news!

Sorry guys!.... Score 1 for GPS systems.
