That's why I chopped mine in for the S. at first they make you think you're a driving god, then you realise they take no skill or effort to drive fast. Very competent but not engaging.

Then there's the famous Renault reliability. Sorry OP, it is as bad as the reputation

I had the R26, not the .R which is a somewhat more pure breed of asbo.

They hold value very well, worth a simple remap, but need good brake pads like Carbotech XP8, CL5 or something.

Otherwise, keep it totally oem and hold value in it.

I run the new Megane RS250 CUP with software. It would eat the R26.r on a circuit.

Like everything - technology and tyres move onwards.

But they are holding value - something of a cult car.

You need to be brave with them. You think you are at 9/10th but can find 2/10th more when you get skilled.

Not boring at all, and still very exclusive

Something special about that rollcage and harness setup.

I've driven about 20 odd laps around the nurburgring in one. Absolutely astonishing car, not boring in any way. A FWD car has no right to drive like that. My only criticism is that it should have 3 point belts as well, as just going to fill up with petrol is a pain with the 5/6 points ( I can't remember which).

Brilliant brilliant car.

Be interested to see how you go with it. I have negative experience of French so regardless of their rep (for the uber hatches of this gen) i steer clear.

Plus fwd puts me off in our wet climate
