They have a ATB diff of course. Like the CUP.
So it makes a huge dynamics difference above any FWD with open diffs.

Myself and Mark1972 had a great day racing around a circuit, me in mapped R26, him with his R26.R
Nothing kept up with us all day - in fact a couple of people complained we were going too hard and we eventually got black flagged.
Just jealousy really as we found out later from the pit chatter and the organiser....owners just had to be seen to humour them.

Hey ho - it was fun and we were both datalogging.

The stock .R on Toyo888 was a good few mph faster at every apex, but lost a little back to the remapped R26 on the following straight.
Overall when 'on it' that .R was still a good 2s per lap faster and I believe we were of similar driver ability and experience.

Awesome car, and if K-Tec have breathed on it already there is nothing to do but hit the track!

Have fun,
Steve

Good tyres like Michelin PSS, and a LSD, mean superb traction even at 300bhp (OP-where I'm at too).

I had the used R26 for a couple of years (was about 4 when sold), and this RS250 CUP is nearly two years old now.
Several hard track days in the R26 (maybe a dozen) and one in the RS250.
Absolutely zero failures or breakages. Totally reliable.
TBF the new cars have 4years warranty anyhow - so who cares when it goes pop?

To put the other side of the case, I bought mine 3months old with a handful of miles on the clock. I kept it 12 months and did 14k in it, in which time it had a new instrument pack, injectors, engine mount and several more bits I've forgotten now, plus various electric gremlins that remained unexplained, it developed a new slot in the gear shift between the 2nd & 4th gates , the 'splitter' trim wouldn't stay on no matter what the dealer did to it, the list just kept growing until I conceded defeat after12 months of misery.

On the plus side, when it did fail to start, it fixed itself by the time the AA arrived.

It wasn't a one off either - I had a Meg DCi at the time and that was in the shop just as much. That said, I had a Clio 182 before the R26 and that only needed 2 cats and a back box in 12 months of ownership.

Warranty is one thing but if the car lets me down I'd be listing it pretty sharp. Having said that the only one I have second hand exp of is an early noughties 172(?), that was sketchy.

But if they've solved those issues then must be worth a look based on what the reviews and owners like yourself say
