Default Went for a drive today

But we both ended up feeling a bit sick because the speeds and g-forces the car can pull are just extraordinary. On the A70 down through Lugar and Muirkirk the car felt fantastic, a good bit more composed than the S ever felt. The quick direction changes right before Abington were simply astounding.

But then we got to Wanlockhead (1531ft above sea level!) we both felt a bit green around the gills. The gut wrenching corner speeds had taken their toll. We stopped at Leadhills to give our heads a rest from the screaming Toyota engine in the back for a while (sound proofing, my arse), and took some more pics. I took it much easier on the way back.

Oh, and as C7BLE said the road was flooded with Sheep who were left to run amock!

Thought I'd go a bit further than the local roads this time as I think people must be pretty bored of seeing my cars there!

Nice pics Gaz - I passed through Abington on the bike at 3 pm or so, but decided to head south to Dumfries on the A76 instead of North.

Roads were very quiet for some reason

How are you getting on with the bike now?

We headed back up the '76 on the way home. Had a few 'have a go heroes' in mundane machinery "race" me whilst I was stuck in traffic at one point. They seem to think I'm gunning it because I can take corners without braking. I then see them stand on the brakes when they get round and find me still there when they finally gun their way round... One guy almost killed himself trying to match my overtaking manouvre on an open bend, and just crept past a Z4 before a truck came past.

It was busier on the way up but yeah on the way there I hardly had to overtake anything.

Nope. I had the optional K.I.T.T module installed.

This was the first day for about 6 weeks - I've not been out much before that either due to work.

Went great today though - all came together. Not any faster, but more fluent and relaxed. Dry roads and no traffic meant I could concentrate on riding without worrying too much about grip and other vehicles up my arse all the time.

There are a fair few nutters about on bikes though it seems - it's subjective as to what is and is not poor riding, but there does come a point where people clearly take silly risks. Certain riders must live on borrowed time given the total absence of passive safety features

I like that last picture - the scenery is almost moving & the car looks like it should be in a Lotus brochure.

I do like cars where slowing for corners is optional!
