Guy at the dealer did recommend the estate WRX - the owner of the dealership; his daughter races 7's and has the estate. But then again if you're getting tyre rack etc., why bother with an estate !!!!

How bad.. go on.. hit me with it.. bearing in mind the company pay my fuel bills (I don't understand how that works out in the tax thing)

I'm afraid it's not very scientific but I thought the S was amazing on petrol when I moved from a scooby and whilst I had my dad's a little while ago I seemed to be constantly at the petrol station swearing about how often I was there.

I haven't run either on a daily basis so I'm probably not the best person to ask, but the fact that I noticed the difference says something. I don't normally think about stuff like that.

True. Hmmm. And the Scoob has a bigger tank...

Svcing costs are fairly high too, and it would need 4 tyres at 15k miles instead of 2 I assume

Can't remember how often I changed the tyres, but you can swap them about more because they're all the same size.

Servicing is definitely more, but still very reasonable IIRC.

I'm sure someone will be able to give you some proper facts & figures on the other thread

What about the Legacy? Far nicer than the boy racer impreza. Ultimately not as 'fun' but 90% of the fun with 10% of the drawbacks. Much nicer inside, new ones anyway.

True but I saw one in the dealer carpark and it just looked like a blobby blob...

The new (03 on) model or pre-03? The forester (impreza on stilts ) is a blobby blob.

Add a little to the budget and get something like this.....

Not the prettiest car in the world but actually pretty good to drive. Will drink like an alcoholic with a thirst but servicing is reasonable. Warranty can be extended for around
