Default What car has the biggest boot?

Hi All

Simple question - without folding seats down etc - what car has the biggest boot? Can be anything - mpv, 4x4 etc etc but rule out vans/van based cars ie that Transit torneo thing!

cheers

Andy

One of the estates?

A6 boot I had was very commodious, as was the Omega I had (both saloons). I'm sure there are cars with bigger boots but will be larger cars in the first place. The old 80s Volvo estates look like they had large boots.

Many MPVs (and 4x4s) have wide and tall boots but quite often not very deep compared to some normal cars. For example, a mate has a Cherokee and has to put his sons hockey goalie kit in sideways yet I could throw the same kit lengthways into my old A6 no probs.

Many manufacturers will indicate the load capacity (in square feet for example) but this often doesn't tell you what you need to know (i.e shape, width, height of boot, protrusions in boot and so on)

The X5 looks massive - this is my current choice - I want to get bikes in and on the car - tow ball rack on the back with 4 bikes, then a few bikes with wheels out in the back - and other kit - I know you can do this with an A6

Possibly a Range Rover or maybe that AMG estate which Clarkson tested?
