I have a Sierra Cossie LSD in the Fury, good for up to 400bhp I'm told.
Hope so

was more a question of how good they are if Rich and his namby pamby gentle driving style managed to kill it
not to mention the fact that the LSD is safe in your car... will have plenty of time to get used to the fact that it's going to have a tough, but brief, life.
I managed to spend a whole 45 mins on mine at the weekend and fitted a throttle stop (to save me having to buy throttle cables in bulk). By the time i got out for a quick drive it was getting a bit dark for sunglasses

Currently I have an EFi manifold in bits in the garage for the RV8 (ditched the carb, going for a programmable ECU) and plans are for a 4.6 conversion. However looking at the prices for everything, it's getting dangerously close to the point at which it makes more sense to ditch the Rover and go for Chevy LS1 power, 320bhp out of the box, before we do any tuning......
Having a few grand burning a hole in my pocket is not making this any easier.
Pete, That Beemer engine is way too heavy, too big and
Yup, the LSx engines are all aluminium alloy, beautiful creations with a lot of oomph.
The Yanks have had a bit of an epiphany in recent years and have started looking at their engineering, Ford and GM now do all alloy, multivalve V8s.
Unfortunately, although the dollar price ($6500) seems to translate directly into pounds when they cross the Atlantic, so I won't be going that route for now - good old Rover power for me....

Custom exhausts - check. Sound is very important
4.6 - having chatted with DJE Engineering yesterday, I'm possibly going to go 3.9 with headwork and breathing. 4.6 will give huge low down torque, exactly what you don't need on track coming out of a corner in a featherweight car, 3.9 will still be torquey (250lb/ft and a very flat curve is a conservative estimate) but will have the real power further up the revs which will suit track driving better.
There are so many options and trick bits for the RV8, I'm like a kid in a sweet shop at the moment "that one, no, that one, no, both of them..."
