Sparco make mudflaps. Racing boots cool mudflaps not?

We have mini flaps on the S as Wobbly points out. Anyone got the definitive, are they for aerodynamics or mud deflection?

I would like to see a pic of P1’s car with mudflaps on.

Must admit that one did see more mudflaps flapping about along with flares in the 70s.

They look crap unless they're on a 4x4 like an old Discovery or Defender and even then I don't like them. I think they look crap.

MQ - they are to stop spray mainly over anything else, hence HGV's having to have them fitted as compulsory.

They are air/wind flaps MQ

I only know this because lovegroova told me that my flaps would be the first thing to hit the ground when negotiating speed bumps

Show us yer flaps, darling:

Extremely useful things, I've found. I've not owned a vehicle with them before & was well put off by those stupid 1970s ones and the anti-static strip & all that mumbo-jumbo.

But on our lousy back lanes - they're grrrrreat!

Mudflaps, can be the start of corrosion just like the rubber edge trim on the rear arch lip on an S. Great traps for moist grime and mud between the steel wing and the flap, as well as the clamps biting into the paint and breaking the surface of the paint and letting water in.

They may stop the odd stone chip i suppose

In 1954!

Modern ones are attached to the arch liner/bumper grommets and are not quite as nasty.

Irony is, colour-code them and suddenly they're spats & part of a ricey body kit!

1954, Nick can you remember that far back, I am afraid i was not born until 1956. Did you have flaps on your first car at that time.

I bet you can remember the bloke with a red flag in-front
