What looks better?
Guys,
I need to get a 2nd car, the S is going to be retired as I'm relocating in october just got a new job. I started off looking at all sorts of different diesels since i may need to travel to different parts of the UK but not often and retire the S. I've never owned a VAG nor a diesel hatchback, please put your anti-diesel minds away for the moment.
The criteria was cheap'ish to insure, small hatchback, quick'ish and around 5k max.
I whittled it down to the Ibiza Cupra TDI and Fabia VRS, the Cupra is more sorted in the suspension, brakes and power aspects and both will be remapped. Fabia circa 175BHP, Ibiza lightier by 150KG but circa 200-210BHP. I think the Fabia gets slightly better MPG -you can get SE editions with leather which are generally a little nicer inside.
Its now boiling down to looks, as both are not that far apart costs wise and insurance.
I will mod they slightly but the car is what it is and i dont want to deviate too much for its use!
Which do people think looks the best?
FABIA VRS
Quite like this.

Anti-Diesel minds? What about anti-Vag? I'm allergic to breakdowns...
It's probably whatever drives the best - The Cupra is the older PQ plank (IIRC!) so is lighter - & more crushable.
It looks vile on the outside (to answer the question) whereas the Skoda looks viler inside.
SEAT is still to my mind the Hispanic equivalent of Polski-FIAT, which is not good.

I thought VAG's have a good reputation esp the diesel variants?
So Skoda less vile than the Seat exterior LOL
The car is what it is, its not meant to be a replacement for the S, the S is that fun mental car for me.
Some people will think these cars are awful but TBH i dont give a f@#k and i wouldn't post if i was bothered.
My anti diesel comment is because i just want to know which car looks the best rather than going into an anti-fun diesel bickering contest.

I prefer the Skoda. I confess to bias: my wife has got one. She's had it since new and has done 110k miles in it now. It's great fun to drive, yet returns 54mpg in the real world. The odd minor thing has gone wrong with it (usual Fabia things: leaking rear doors, heater fan resistor pack) but online resources tell you how to fix these things and so we did - but nothing major, and the engine still pulls like a train.
