Default What is it with some people

I like to drive the 550 regularly, preferably about once a week to keep everything turning over, and since today looked good and the traffic was likely to be light with the Bank Holiday weekend I thought I'd drive it in to work.

Coming along the A456 under Junction 3 of the M5 I came up behind an RX-8 at the lights. It's dual carriageway away from the lights and he sits in the outside lane with nothing inside him. I see him look in the mirror and then he puts his foot down .

Since I'd forgone my cereal for breakfast I thought I'd have some RX-8 instead so ate him up the inside.

What is it? I don't normally get this twattish behaviour. Mostly people pull over so they can have a better look. It's my car paid for with my money and I don't wan't it scratched or bent so always keep my distance etc. Perhaps he though I was a Hyundai Coupe

Probably just wanted to see a Ferrari driver drive it properly. Its not often you see a Ferrari let alone see some one drive it how they can be driven. He wanted you to take the bait and you did.

I suppose it's the "he's got a flash car, but I bet he doesn't know how to drive it properly - I wonder if I can use my superior wheelman skills to take him in my vastly inferior motor".

(at least that was my thinking when a 911 appeared behind me as I entered an NSL limit in my early S days - he had me for breakfast too )

Well an RX-8 isn't exactly slow but Nigel Mansell wouldn't keep a 550 at bay. He wasn't even a chav which I would have understood

But he would have had you had it been the twisties or so he will claim on his forum. Some people never learn but glad you showed him a clean pair of exhaust pipes. I am really tired of driving with idiots around. People don't move over, linger about, stop at every roundabout even when it is clearly empty and the list goes on and on. The only time I have any fun now is driving late at night.

you forgot. .it is nice to see cars like yours flying by.. i suspect he was just provoking you .. and you bit.

However .. he should have moved into the inside lane.

"Mostly people pull over so they can have a better look. It's my car paid for with my money and I don't wan't it scratched or bent so always keep my distance etc"

im not sure what to make of that too be honest.... its not your road... you should have just let him go.. maybe he was just enjoying his car in the NSL, and i would say undertaking is far more dangerous... why did you rise to it? sounds like a bit of a dick swinging competition to me..
