Default What? Where did that come from?

Last Sunday early evening, Pen tells me there are some strange white markings on the off-side rear bumper of the CTR.

?

Scratched and Dented Off-Side wing and rear light cluster scraped too.

We're in the middle of an extension being built and we've had some seriously long vehicles down the close and we're having to park on the street!

Was it one of them, maybe a neighbour

Looks like it matches fairly well.

But I bet you'll have a job getting them to admit it

I would be thinking the same but I am no forensic expert.

This is very very annoying as you are very unlikely to get anywhere with this.

get a sample of the paint off the renno taken by an independant person and try and match it to yours..

or alternately face em up and if they don't admit it kill them on the spot

Buy some brake fluid-pop it into a garden sprayer-give his/her car a nice spray.

Simple.

If they didn't admit it at the time they will not admit it now.

I reckon its worth asking them though; they might be "brave" enough to walk away from it when nobody is there, but they might be embarassed enough to admit it if you ask them (non confrontationally).

Ask them and see what they say.

Whoever did it must have known they hit your car, as it's hardly a light scuff.

Jaeger-"my car was hit at the weekend-did you happen to see anything?"

Tool-"no"

Sounds like they were a brain donor trying to 'make a point'.

If they're mean spirited enough not to come round politely at the time, it's not likely they'll be any more reasonable now.

Call your insurer, tell them the story and see if you can get them to persue a claim and make sure it's a proper bodyshop job on their insurance - paint samples should be enough to get them caught.

Alternatively Moggy's brake fluid idea is probably just as effective.
