Have you had a proper look at an M3 convertible yet Kelvin. As I said on a previous thread on this subject, despite my pre-conceptions about this car (and my worries about the image 'thing') I was mightily impressed. Not a folding hard top, but there are advantages - for example, when folded, the roof doesnt fill the boot!!!!
No I haven't Ian but I'm not sure it's what we really want. I think Colleen and I are both fixed on a 2 seat roadster this time. The SLK with it's hard roof is very attractive and I am now considering the new MX5 as the price of the SLK heads towards

They'll chop the top off the new TT at somepoint. be the first to buy and the depreciation won't be bad.

The new TT is a big car and I think it looks really good.

PS Just looked on the Audi site, says convertible is 'coming soon', so not long to wait.

We looked at the A4 convertible Rich but neither of us took to it. Inside it just looked cheap. If I was to go for an Audi it would probably be the new TT (yes I know but it does look a little Porshe like) but I still want a drop top.

I agree with the depreciation bit but at this stage it would be my intention to keep it at least until retirement (in 5 years time am I really that old) and probably even longer, probably until Colleen retires. I should be pretty safe from major problems until then whereas a second hand one could give problems.

I really am torn though. Fortunately there is no great rush to make a decision, I'm still enjoying the Type R
Ah - fair point.

Funny actually as I've always been a fan of the interior of Audi's, not entirely sure why, possibly becasue my first 'new' car was an A3.

I was looking at a TT in the garage yesterday - definately bigger than the old one, and apparently handles well.

Also - MX5, looks small, but it's a lot bigger than the old one - could be a good drive actually?

I would wait for the TTS.

It is going to have the same engine as the new S3 - 2.0T with 272bhp (S3 will only have 265bhp) and it will be much lighter than the 3.2 which is a lardy beast!

Red with RS4 alloys mmmmmm

Hi there - if you're thinking of a mazda, might be worth waiting, as I'm sure I read somewhere that they were going to do an 'MPS'(?) version with around 260bhp...
Thanks for the info jimbob. I broached the subject of a Mazda with her who must be obeyed but her mind is now set on an SLK I think. It's now a question of getting a sensible deal from MB

Kelvin have you looked at a 350z convertible ?

I saw a brand new one at Goodwood in the summer and the interior is much improved. The engine sounds nice too and they are sub
