a) buy a biggish motorhome to wander as a cloud and see the sights - one of these or these.
b) attach a trailer and target the good driving roads
c) the Ring merits a whole weekend
d) first I need Don Palmer
Carol's enthusiastic. I haven't surfaced all the plan yet but surely it will be better to have an aim, not wander aimlessly?
...but first I gots to retire
Brian James Minno or Clubman depending on what you plan to tow. Buy new, as second hand they don't depreciate much and people abuse trailers (and have trouble reversing them) so if you buy second hand you don't save a lot and are inheriting someone elses neglect.
When you get back you can sell the trailer on without too much of a hit in value.
Do remember to get good straps with decent ratchets on them (try www.towsure.com) and long enough ramps for the car you're towing not to ground. Also useful are the corner stand things so you can put the car on and off the trailer without having to have it attached to the tow vehicle.
If you're travelling, don't bother with storage boxes ot spare wheel racks, you'll only worry stuff is going to get nicked every time you leave the trailer.
EDIT - But do get a good tow lock to make sure it stays attached to the tow vehicle.
yeah I wouldnt fancy driving one of them lorries with an S hanging off the back in Europe.... No fun at all IYAM.
Why dont you just buy a nice little gaff somewhere near Strasbourg and be a short blat from cool roads in any direction? reckon you could buy bricks and motor for the same price as one of those motor homes.
Agree Brian James are the best. We've had three now and have finally settled with -
Very well built but pricey. Had their open one to start with and its a much better build quality than the cheaper options by other makers, also Brain James fetch good money secondhand (good market too) so in the long run a good investment.
