!
I was briefly flirting with a black chrome finish (decided to stay OEM) and whilst was told it is very susceptible to chipping and revealing the black base coat.

and I will NOT be happy with chipping
not least because it doesn't happen on my original wheels

3 days.. wow. they must be busy or dont do them on site
Spit and polish do them onsite all in the same day - and a cracking job too. Often a very long waiting list though, think i booked 6 weeks ahead

) they're always had vans delivering or collecting wheels, and I think they send some of the trickier stuff off to Spit 'n Polish - it certainly used to be stuff like M3 wheels and Jag XKR wheels they sent out.

I had a chat to Roger about Spit n' Polish'. I have heard some less than good stories about some of their work, and Roger suggested that they are getting drawn into the price war in waht is a feircely competitive sector.
Wicked Wheels are scaling down / stopping their mobile service for this very reason - it is not worth their while competing on price - if they do, they dont make any money.
So they are concentrating on high quality work (which most folk's with nice cars are willing to pay a sensible price for) and have doubled the size of their workshop in Crawley to facilitate this.

They do admit defeat with Heidi's 18" Monza II wheels on the Golf though, reckon they can't guarantee the lacquer staying on, whereas I see some other places do reckon they can do them - according to Autocar anyway, who had most of their wheels repaired.
BTW Ian - is there a thread somewhere explaining your new avatar?
