You are getting old

Like the other day, when you and our fellow Director decided to walk around that breakwater rather than jump over it

OK, you're not enjoying the Mini experience, but wouldn't another Toyota but diesel powered give you everything the Prious did but with the added advantage that you can run it on chip fat?

Not a dig, just wondering?

The main driver for me was the BIK tax. As a company car the Prius was the sensible choice from my point of view.

I tried an Insight but the manual only option in the UK put me off, an auto (or CVT) is a must for these hybrids IMHO - computer knows best 'n' all that!

As a private purchase I suspect the Insight might have been a good bet - the prices seem to be going up and the JDM imports are now beginning to appear, so may be its time has come?

Really can't see why anyone would buy a Prius.

They are pretty ugly, interior is naff and there are better options IMO.

The BMW 118d (143bhp) is a all round better choice.

Much more powerful, equal or better mpg, low BIK (no congestion charge), RWD, much more fun, better residuals, stop/start and much more.

BMW seem to be leagues ahead with their Efficiency Dynamics program.

Alas my family have all their limbs present. The 1-Series is OK if the rear passengers are amputees - but then the boot wouldn't accommodate the accompanying wheelchairs either.

The Prius is a proper five-seater - the 1-Series is a two-plus-two compared to it.

As for ugly - beauty is in the eye of the beholder etc etc - but at least it's functional styling to create an 0.26 drag coefficient - what's the rationale behind the 1-series styling? An internal bet between disgruntled BMW stylists to see who could slip the most ugly contemporary car into production?

In the real-word - getting back to my original reason for championing the Prius - it'll be interesting to see what the Prius is worth on the used market versus the

It's a global car built in one plant in Japan.
It has to be useable in a global market
Diesel passenger cars is largely a European niche (i.e. common here but not so common elsewhere)
