I think the cover is only given because the insurance co's get a cracking (pardon the pun) rate for the work, as opposed to a dealer. I'd be surprised if they would pay out for that.
I've had quite a few windscreens via insurance co's and the best one was by auto windscreens who came to my workplace. RAC windscreens were a bunch of f**king monkeys and I got them to put another windscreen on after the front clam was squint and the window poorly sealed. Quite an insult coming from someone who drives a car handbuilt by Norfolk turnip farmers!
