Winter hack!
I've picked this up for winter, I've bought other cheap runarounds to keep my cars away from the salt, this time it's a mercedes, last time was a mk2 CRX.
Here it is:

Had the S2000 out today as it was nice, makes me Love the S so much more, just to look at it and drive it after being in the Merc for a while really makes you appreciate it again!
So does anyone else have the luxury of hibernating thier pride and joy over the winter?

Not a cosworth. It's a w124, the cosworth engines didn't feature in this model. Porsche did do a rather tasty job on them though called a 500e. AMG made the Hammer which is also a beast.

My s2000 is off the road as soon as the gritters come out, and since my 'garage' is up a single track road that won't get cleared if it snows I always look for a good awd vehicle to do winter duties!
For 2 years I had this, bought for £2000, sold in January this year for £1650 with no mot. Never went wrong, never spent a penny on it!

This winter I have bought this. £900 with a years test and 4 new tires. Very clean and so far so good! It's my second subaru (first was a legacy outback a few years back) and they are brilliant IMO! Rugged, simple, built to last cars which is exactly what I need as a daily/winter hack!

I had an E39 last year which I only lost £200 on some 8000 miles later. Bought a w209 CLK from a client as he couldn't shift it in Scouseland. For a 12 year old car, it's faultless and only just hit 100k. Bargain at £2k happily saving my S 50 miles a day
