Holy cow indeed!

Who would have thought that bag of shite would do 125 mph.
And carry on past your Z4M onto 160mph

Rest assured, when my car has to go somewhere for something, I fiddle with the RSM so that my speed limiter cuts in at 30mph.

Any attempt to go higher results in a CEL
Did the same with my rev limiter .. over 3k rpm and it'd bang and pop flames.

I have a switchable limiter on the Evo.

Which I may use from now on as the tools at the local Ralliart dealer razzed it up the road in front of me last time I wnet there

It links to my paranoia thread. I just can't handle dropping the car off for an MOT or tyre change. It's inevitable that putting a fast car in front of some oik will end up in the car being "test driven"

Other big brother product:

the trick is, to take your car some where its nothing special. Some where your pride and joy is not worth bothering with. another way is to stick a post it note on steering wheel with the mileage on

I do the note thing too, and I have nil concern with the Lotus dealer as they see dozens of them.

As you say, it's when you go somewhere more run of the mill, or the car gets driven elsewhere for MOT etc.

On another note, I've heard some nasty stories about airport parking Never understand why they want to keep your keys?!

I remember seeing an E46 M3 Conv when they had been out about a year and a garage near a customer of mine seemed to have trusted a couple of mechanics to road test it... I was stood outside his shop chatting, back streets of Sheffield city centre and round a corner came this M3 with the roof down, side ways! About 5 mins later, back round it came again with different people in, tyres screeching! Bet the owner never knew...
