just got back from 181 in the linveille area and all I can say it was great......a 11 mile stretch of pristine highway with straights and plenty of curves......went with some friends for the first time and all i can say is that i am hooked and cant wait until I take my s and tear up some asphalt. Has anyone else drove this road?

It's a good road. You can make a loop there in several directions, and drive twisties all day long.

On the map look for nc 181 north out of Morganton. It's about 20 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Was there the whole weekend! Awesome weather. To and from Wilmington, the drive was a total 998 miles, mostly on the Blue Ridge parkway & surrounding areas.

Great accomodations ----> Alpine Inn - Little Switzerland NC

Linville Falls, Grandfather Mtn. Mt . Mitchell and Chimney Rock. We even did a bit of Gem Mine exploring too!
