The tidewater area is full of S2000s.
If you go on the Virginia forum I am sure you can hook up.

Good luck and than you for your service. Signed a vet.

I'm in the United States Coast Guard, and I am stationed in Portsmouth, VA. I have just recently gotten back into a S2000, so I am not too involved in the community up here yet. But I have heard that there is a rather large community in various areas of Virginia.

ArchAngel2K,
The USCG, for the most part, allows you to pick your geographical area, but they don't allow you to select what unit you will be part of. For example, I wanted to remain as close to North Carolina as I could when I initially got in. With that being said, I stated that I would like to be placed in USCG District 5, which is anywhere as far south as North Carolina and as far north as Pennsylvania. The USCG ended up placing me in Virginia for my first duty station.

ok so I would be choosing 7 because I want to be in florida. The biggest question is do they take prior enlisted and do I have to go basic all over again

Congratulations on coming so close to picking the best MOS. I am in 15R for D CO 1-130th. If you are not prior service you will not be able to have a car at AIT. You will be in Alpha company and from my new soldiers that just got back from eustis they tell me things have only gotten stricter. The only thing some people do is rent a storage unit and keep it off post. Never ever drive a car while on post. If you have any more question let me know. I can also put you in touch with yankees as well if you have specific questions but the 15R and 15Y train right together and I work alongside them in the hangar.
