Well, just placed a $425 order with hardtopguy for some rotors, pads, fluids (brake, tranny, & diff), and a new cam chain tensioner. Still haven't heard back from Evolution, but www.performancecloseout.com is probably the winner for best price on Koni's. They quoted me $540 shipped. I'd like to do the Koni's and the brake work at the same time, so I'll probably order the Yellow's in the next day or two.
Might have to host a Carolinas wrench-turning day down south!

It sounds like brake ducting with OEM pads and rotors would work for your intended use. I ducted my front rotors and I can't imagine overheating them on public roads. The ducting and Cobalt VR pads has worked great for track days. There are several good threads on ducting stickied at the top of the racing and competition forum.

I'll bring the spring compressor.
Better yet, we can do it at my place and use the impact gun for those pesky suspension bolts.

HOTROD, thanks for the idea/pics. I'd do that except I'm competing in the stock class in my region, and that wouldn't be legal. Not that it would help during autocrossing , but still, I can't do it.
