Default Bad day for my S2K

Bad news... My wife wrecked the S2000 this morning

She left for work at 5:00 AM and, about a mile from our house, hit a patch of black ice. She was doing about 55mph at the time. She then proceeded to crash through 2 fences, bounce through a deeply rutted feel and park on a tree.

She's fine, but has a sore neck. The car, I believe, is totalled. Lots of body damage, and the rear suspension is bent way out of shape. Unbelievably, the airbags did not pop.

The state trooper that we called to write a simple report for insurance purposes, ended up giving her a ticket for "Exceeding a safe speed for conditions." She was very apologetic about it and claimed she had to give us a ticket since we damaged someone else's property. That doesn't make me feel any better about having a ticket to deal with, though.

I'll post some pics tonight.

Sad, sad day.

I'm very happy to read that your wife is alright. So sad to read that your baby is not. Hope everything works out for you.

Sorry to hear about that, glad your wife is ok though. I know it is kinda early to ask, but any plans for another S2k?

Thanks for all the kind thoughts, guys.

No plans for another S2K yet (God, I hope they total the car, I *really* don't want to own a wrecked car). We really need an SUV as much as I dislike them... my dog is tearing up my car, and since we do a lot of field work with him... there is lots of mud... AND I'm tired of being snowbound.

So, I'm hoping we'll get an SUV for now, and eventually trade my car in on a WRX STi. I've been in love with the STi for a long time and am *really* excited about it coming stateside.

but... we'll see...

yes... i'm gonna miss the S2K a LOT... at least I got to drive it a couple of times this week.

Sorry about your loss. Glad your wife is OK.

Usually with tickets like that all you need is a statement from your insurance that they will pay for the damage to the other property. Go to court and it will be dismissed.

Good luck.

sorry to hear that rich

The ticket sounds like pure crap and I'm sure you can have it dropped in court just as long as the insurance company covers any damage to the property.

Glad everyone was ok...

Are you still working off Weston Parkway??

cya,
