Is this an insurance claim or are you paying out of pocket?

The shop in Chicago I went to would charge $200 per panel. And their work was impeccable. I figured with inflation (it was 8-9 years ago) and higher environmental standards, I'd be willing to pay about $350 for a front bumper respray with some holes patched up. I was not prepared for $750.

I do want a quality job, but when the shop was recommended to me, and even here in this thread it was stated their prices were "fair."

It may sound like I am bashing Apex, and I want to be very clear: that is in no way my intention. I am sure they do outstanding work. Just looking around their shop tells me their are conscientious and meticulous about the job they do. I was just stating that I had severe sticker shock.

Both, actually.

The $900 for the rear bumper and RR fender is an insurance claim. I couldn't care less what he charges them.

The front bumper is out of my pocket, and I made that clear. $750 for a front bumper respray just seems way high.

hmmm...putting myself in your shoes I'd have to agree.

If I were you, I'd call him back and ask if he could go lower since you're coming out of pocket on the bumper. If not, this is definitely my 2nd choice:

Quotes are by appointment only btw.
