Carpet Cleaning in the S
I had been planning to do this for a long time and finally got around to it yesterday.
As is the case with many owners, much debris collected under the seats of my S so I went all the way.
I began by removing the drivers side first. Not remembering there was a wire connected to the bottom of the seat, I tugged trying to pull the seat out and in so doing, scratched the bottom of the lock pillar.

I was most annoyed with myself at that stage
Moving on, I disconnected the wire and got the seat out.
After vacuuming the carpets, I used my Bissell rug cleaner to shampoo the carpets.

Feeling very pleased with the results, I proceeded to reinstall the seats. I was being most cautious with the driver seat since I had to work around the steering wheel.
Then it happened
I dropped the seat at just the right time for the seat track to plummet my quarter panel and the top of the lock pillar.

After screaming such words as I have not used since my military years and drying my eyes, I proceed to put the damn seat in the car.
For those who plan to do this, when reinstalling the drivers seat, if you are alone, pit the front bolts in loosely so that you can tilt the seat forward to reconnect the sensor wire. I propped the seat in the incline position so as to reach the connectors.

I'm not sure what I will do to have the dent fixed but hope I can find someone who can do the job without using any filler.
That's my sad but hopefully informative tale of woe.

Tip: Reinstall the seat with the rear of it facing in, and as you clear the seal rotate it. Sorry about the ding Lee. Pulling/installing seats always scares me the most when someone gives me their baby to wrench on.
