Change spark plugs - what do I need?

Thumbs up Change spark plugs - what do I need?

I'm guessing all I need is a socket wrench, four new plugs, and new wires?

Anyone recommend anything on par with OEM plugs? Is the wiring standard?

You don't change the wires since we have a coil on plug setup. You will need a screw driver to remove the coil packs to get to the plugs.

Hey Matt,

I dont think there are any wires to get. I would just tape the socket to the extension so it doesn't get stuck. If you want we can handle it on the 20th, pretty easy job.

Sure, I figured I'd do it when we're all around. Any recommendations on plugs or should I just get the OEM from Honda?

I'd like to know too. I searched "spark plug recommendations" and saw a lot of people complaining about Bosch +4 plugs, or recommending OEM. Some of the threads on the **thirty six pages** of stuff I found discussed going to a colder heat range, but that seemed to be mostly for forced induction cars.

bosch is a german plug for beemers and mercedes vw and what not id go denso or oem

denso ftw!

i went with a the IK24 which are one step colder than oem. i like em! go pick them up at your local autozone or advance

I thought OEM was either Denso or NKG - buying from Honda is pre-gapped, can you get the same plug elsewhere for less $? I can gap a plug.

OEM is NGK Laser Platinum PFR7G-11S.

Club Plug I read has the best shipped online price. But you can also buy at NAPA (PN 7772).

Another cross reference is NGK 7's stock no. 3330 part no. BCPR7ES which is exactly the same as the OEM NKG PFR7G-11S platinums, but is nickel instead.

$12 ea at Club Plug, plus shipping at $10.

I heard the dealerships charge around $25/plug.
