Default Daily Driver - Shopping

Ok...so I'm sure some of you may be rejoicing that I've given up on my MINI Cooper S idea for a daily driver to replace the ELEMENT. I should be hearing something pretty solid on the way of work on where our company is headed and what's up...

OPTIONS...

#1 - If our company is purchased by Tmobile, then I'm looking to buy a Volvo S60 sedan or BMW 328i sedan as my "new" daily driver to replace the ELEMENT.

#2 - If I'm not "interested" in the changes that are coming, I may look for something different in Charlotte and something that won't have me traveling...if that holds true, I won't need a daily driver - I'll just use the S.

I've driven both the BMW and Volvo. Honestly, I'm liking the Volvo S60 so much more...it drove very smooth, very quiet... It doesn't bring around that extra baggage of "hey, it's a bimmer." Sure, it's a tad plain-Jane, but I'm looking for something that has...
  • 30mpg or better
  • Some decent get up 'n go...
  • Some nice lux items...as I'm in the damn car so much...
  • Some style and something that isn't ALL over the place...in every lane and parking lot... (I know, that's a hard one...)
Funny thing is...I'm considering option # 2 more and more. I love my company and my job...just would prefer to "stay" in Charlotte and drive my S2000 daily...

So, what are your thoughts? Any other suggestions?? Thanks!

I like both options Raul, but I just don't really like the look of the BMW 3series in 4 doors... if you got the 2 door version then I would be saying you should jump on that one in a heartbeat

so overall I'd say if you can swing the staying in Charlotte part then by all means go for it! but if not, I would go with the Volvo

What are the Volvo dealers like for service in the Charlotte area?

If they are anything like what I had to deal with here in the RTP area then I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole.

My short list includes the A4, Legacy GT, and C-Class MB. Nothing is an nice as the MB imo (baller, high tech, super lux imo), The BMW is blah in my book (common, average looks, electronic nannys), and the A4 and GT are awd and fun, with the Legacy being the least expensive, but still really nice.

Volvos are pretty bland imo, and I always think Ford when I see them. I would look at the upcoming awd (xwd) Saab 9-3 though.
