Thanks to all for the input.
I am about to decide to take the TP off for the inspection and put it back after.
My concern is that if I get past the OBD, I will get failed on the visual. I don't know what the penalty,if any, is for failing but no need to push my luck.

The timing is bad however. The WTD is in April and that is the month I need the inspection.

Oh well.........

Lee, you can "put off" your inspection 30 days past the month it is due, so you can leave it on until after the Dragon. Even if you do get a ticket for expired inspection, that's a fix it ticket and is easily taken care of after the Dragon.

Take it from one who has done it... me. You will pass the sniffer test... dont take it to a shop where they will bother to look under the car though b/c it will NOT pass the visual inspection. No doubt that it will pass emissions (as long as you have the o2 sim) just might not pass the visual.

As long as there is no CEL then you should be fine. This is another reason why I love haveing my cars registered back home in Yadkin County. Lower taxes and no emissions test

they dont do sniffer test anymore
as long as you dont have dtc stored your car will pass the scan but will fail if they raise the vehicle and check it, but most places dont check

it was so nice also be registered in yadkin county my car passed inspection with a full race kit and ems :-)

Im not an s2000 owner yet, but I do own a 2003 WRX and I am completely catless with a CEL fix. I have passed inspections for 2 years now at 2 different places catless and neither place did an under the car visual inspection. They did check turn signals and brake lights and all that, which is what I think the main part of the visual inspection is. I researched this a while back on this and according to the DMV website, the "sniffer" emissions test is only given to cars pre 91 so you dont have to worry about that. All other cars just have to pass the OBDII test (which means no CEL's) and the visual inspection and chances are with the visual inspection they wont even look under the car.
