Um...okay...I'm figuring that you're not happy with the deal (or lack thereof)...but won't you fill us in??

Making a statement of "DON'T DEAL with such and such dealer" doesn't tell us what really went wrong...and it looks like you're naming "TWO" dealers...so what's 'da deal??

Well, I found an 03 Ford F-250 turbo diesel @ cars plus lenoir. 30k, 4x4, lifted, ext. cab. asking $17.5k. I called Thursday morn (Day of wedding) and said I wanted it. Told them I was 1-1/2 away and would stop by (On our way to Gatlinburg Friday Morning). They asked about my S as a trade and wanted to run the numbers and said they'd call me back. Got financing with my credit Union down here. By now a couple hours passed so i called back and got a different guy. Dude was very rude to me and told me the truck was sold! I kept asking about it thinking maybe my salesman put a sign on it for me. He kept yelling at me saying it was sold. So I hang up. Not 2 minutes later the orignal guy calls me back and says the truck was not sold but on hold. A lady came in and placed deposit to hold after I already called. I told him I wanted it but he said nothing he could do. And the Rude guy I talked to was a co-owner! I wrote an e-mail that night asking if it was available. They wrote back on friday morning and said it was still for sale. Then, they sold the truck to the lady Friday morning. I have the e-mail to prove it.

As for Liberty Dodge, I called about an 04 F-150 w/ no mileage listed. Guy named Sean Trueman tells me 94k. I tell him "too high". So he asked what I'm looking for. I tell him a full size truck Preferably diesel. He says "How bout an 04 f-250 crew cab?" I say "Sure! but how much?" He says "They're asking $23k" I said "I wouldn't be able to go over $20k" He tells me to come in, we'll value trade and see if we cant get close. So I bite. I drive up there and they start "how bout a new Dodge Ram?" I tell them my payment limits and say "No way you can do it" He says "You are underestimating my rebates". I say 'You cant put me in a $40k truck for what I am willing to pay" So, he spends an hour running numbers and what do ya know? The numbers dont come out. So we start looking at the 250 and we have to go to a sister delaership to get it. Liberty Pontiac. So we get back to the dodge dealership, they value the trade, then come to me and say the price on the truck is '$27k". I say "Bull Sh#t". Then they are like "I dont know where he got $23k from". Blah Blah Blah. I waste 2-1/2 hours and come out worse for the loss of gas and the credit ding b/c the inquiry

SO...... If anyone sees a 4x4 truck, full size, low miles (Under 50k on gas engine, under 100k on diesel), at least ext. cab, under $20k, holler at me. Oh and it has to be Ford, GMC, or Dodge. Sorry silly workplace rules. I wanna NEW Tundra.

All the diesel engines of the "Big 3" are awesome. They withstand 100s of thousands of miles with no major maintenance. Ford is the "Most comfortable" to me with Dodge being second. No need to buy into the whole "My truck is more dependable then yours". At this point, just drive whats comfortable.
