The G35 Coupe is what I want to get but I am married to the RX-8 due to a lease.

I leased it because being a new model, I had no idea what the resale was and since I take actual expenses on the car as my primary business vehicle, 96.5% of the cost is tax deductable.

Dont get out of hand calling the RX-8 a POS. I have owned both and I am telling the RX-8 is a very nice car. It is slightly slower than the S2000 but it would be close enough to be a drivers race. However, for my needs it is a great car. I have had ONE problem with it but unfortunately the dealer cant fix it. The 60k warranty was a big plus. I would have gone with a 3 year lease instead of a 4 if it were 36k bumper to bumper.

The Mazda Dealer in High Point has been great in calling up Mazda of North America. I am going to take the warranty work to them but all other standard maintenance and oil changes are done at a shop that is a client of mine which does top notch work.

I have talked to many people and there is absolutely NO WAY that I could have my mechanic shop fix the problem and get Mazda to pay.

It is now just a matter of principle. I am going to hold Mazda to their warranty and they are going to fix the car right. Assuming the Mazda dealer in High Point fixes the car correctly, I will have reason to take it back to Mazda except for TSBs if required other than when I turn it and give them the finger on my way out.

Mike,

The infiniti dealer is very good in our area. I actually consider the tow truck drivers opinion. I told him I wish I could get out of the lease and buy the infiniti and he said "You would be better off because I never tow an Infiniti" I consider that a great endorsement from someone who does nothing but tow cars on a daily basis.

I will say the G35 is a little heavier than I would like but you cant have everything you want in a car.

Since you know that it's a problem, just keep a booster pack in the trunk, so you won't have to worry about being stranded. I know this doesn't solve the underlying issue, but it would at least keep you from missing meetings until everything is worked out.

I do have a 400AMP Jumper kit in the car. When it drains, it will not crank even with the booster or being jumped from another car. There is some issue that Mazda cant figure out.

I finally got the regional rep to call after getting a lawyer to call her. The local shop just replaced the battery again. I have talked to the service center in High Point and I am going to take it there to hopefully get it fixed once and for all.

Sorry, wrong term. I should have worded my thoughts a little differently. I was typing faster then I was thinking. Any car having a consistent issue can be frustrating, especially when the dealer isn't helping. I went through that same situation myself a few years ago. I hope you get this resolved soon.

Just to keep you guys up to date. Bob King Mazda only put on another battery and said that was the problem. Mazda NA said that Bob King reported that the power drain was coming from the Trunk light staying on. This is what they said last time and said they fixed it.

I finally got hold of the regional rep and she is useless. I told her i am not returning the loaner until my car is fixed right. She called today and said if I dont return the loaner and pick up my car that they will charge me for the loaner going back to the 1st day.

I am out sick with the flu and have been prescribed viccoden so I had to have my wife return the loaner and take my 8 to work. I just hope it cranks for her when she leaves work because she needs to pick up our son from daycare otherwise they charge out the butt for each minute late.

I just finsihed writing a 5 page letter to the Mazda Mediation team in Irvine California upon my attorneys advice. He said to document all the problems, what the dealer has done, what was promised to you, how much income this has costed you, and want you want Mazda NA to do.

I wrote this letter and explained the issues and stated I wanted out of my last 1.5 years of the lease.

I doubt Mazda will buy out the lease but it is worth a try.

If the car doesnt start for my wife this afternoon, I am then going to go ahead and pay all the people who sell the Winston-Salem journal on major intersections to stand across the street from Bob King Mazda and hold up signs stating things like "Bob King doesnt honor warranty>" Bob King Sold me a Lemon, etc.
